Pros

Decent benefits Healthy pay compared to the market around Chicago Work-life balance is pretty good - it is cyclical so some months of the year you might end up working more than 50 hrs. Grainger has done a very good job handling Covid concerns and is generally very open to hybrid working model CEO is super humble and approachable and always gives very thoughtful answers to questions in a public forum Executive leadership is tenured and knows the business well Multiple groups focusing on DEI initiatives

Cons

Grainger being the market leader in this industry acts like a behemoth and it absolutely slows everything down - hardly any project will move at a fast pace (leadership might feel there is no need) and IT team is super difficult to work with in terms of prioritizing work Upward mobility is very politically driven Constant reorganizations to align with different executive leaders have made it difficult to feel at home and settle down - as we are constantly out to prove our worth to new leaders and build those relationships all over again Benefits could be better - company has scaled down its 401K/Profit Sharing payout multiple times over the past 8 years
