Pros

Technology, resources, brand leader, executive leadership, great people, structure, breath and depth of products and services, ability to work with diverse customer base, Grainger Show

Cons

Out of touch with the field, turned into an activity driven vs quality consultative driven structure, terrible leadership - poor leadership accountability and development at the RSVP level, low diversity of thought (hire diversity then expect assimilation at Grainger ranger robot level), not inclusive, highly political environment- about who you know not what you do, constant compensation changes, difficult processes, lots of lip service

Pros

Large company with room to grow if you work at the corp headquarters

Cons

The company is sending more and more jobs out of the country. At one point the company was very good to their employees but now they are just about money.

Pros

fairly comparable health benefits but nothing outstanding. Employee profit sharing plan getting cut to minimum contributions as management cuts employee benefits in order to improve operating margins and impress Wall Street.

Cons

compensation plan crushes top performers and rewards poor performance (poor performers get lower goals and top performers get a majority of the district goal heaped on them). District Managers with little or no managerial experience put in charge of people's lives and goals (they have no real understanding of the markets or customer base) and are moved too frequently to gain any real insight into their employees capabilities or customer base. Upper management rules by fear and intimidation, no positive motivation. Mileage isn't reimbursed at anywhere near federal guidelines and account managers are forced to cover their own expenses...Human Resource Department serves mgt so little if anything is done to improve employee working conditions (though they put on a good show)
