Pros

Like any very large company, the healthcare and retirement benefits.

Cons

I spent well more than a decade as an Account Manager with Grainger, and endured the decline of the culture within the sales organization for longer than I should have. Fast turnover has been embraced and become the norm in most of the markets. Your responsibilities will be overwhelming, and many proclaim, "What have I gotten myself into?" There is an endless menu of data that management is encouraged to choose from to keep the pressure on. Below is a partial list of those data points, none of which you are compensated on. You are only paid bonuses as a percent to overall sales goal. Keepstock run rate- National run rate- Local run rate- Ecommerce sales- Safety sales- Metal working run rate- # of Keepstock opp's created- # of metal working opp's created- # of Keepstock opp's closed- # of metal working opp's closed- At the annual trade show? How many Opp's have you created today, yesterday, after the completion of the event? # of opp's and dollar amount of opp's in the various opp stages- Pipeline velocity- Age of opp's- New contacts added- Frequency of customer touches- Account plans for each account, with plans for each sub category- Monthly revenue forecast- Your weekly calendar of "events" and are they in person, or virtual- In short, the Account Manager role will grind you to the stump.

Pros

. Great benefits . Management is there for you, and always trying to help you develop yourself. . Safe, friendly and supportive work environment. . Annual shirt and shoe allowance, computer, phone, unlimited internet, Linkedin learning and many others things provided at no cost. . Mileage and windshield time . All the support you could ask for . They highly encourage you to spend time with you family, and not to get to envolved in your work. . We had the CEO DG Macpherson get on our team call. (Our team has only 17 people.) . They constantly try to get you up into the company. They want you to excede in a bad way.

Cons

Only that I didn't get on years ago.
