Pros

Beautiful area, great coworkers, good parties, good hiking, free lift tickets. Great for a season if you're possibly working part time and aren't bothered by stress at your job.

Cons

Most of the managers are incompetent and have power control issues to overcompensate for their lack of ability. Low pay, expensive housing (albeit nice), expensive cost of living. My job was a joke as were my managers.

Thank you for your feedback. At Grand Targhee Resort we value the input of our current and former employees. If you would have brought your issue forward, it is possible we could have addressed your concern. We hold our housing cost below market rate and well below other mountain towns, it also comes fully furnished and is very nice. We also strive to keep our wages competitive within the ski industry and with resorts of similar size, by participating in wage surveys and making changes as needed and we continue to look at programs to reward are hard working employees.

I worked in the housekeeping department at the resort and it was always a mess to deal with. From days that went to not having mangement and having inexperienced people take those places. To having immature people telling the head director lies so they would get what they wanted.

Pros

For outdoor enthusiasts, a fun place to work and live. Some leadership staff are competent, approachable, and seem to be trying hard to succeed in their areas.

Cons

Some staff, though, do not have respect for their employees. An example from my experience: 1) the company mandated that employees take a 2-week unpaid leave of absence while the resort was not open for business 2) I scheduled (including paid travel) a 2-week vacation based upon this policy 3) the time off was then denied, even though all communication (email and verbal) up to that point indicated that it was still required.
