Pros

The only pro I can think of is they gave me enough warning about going back in the office to find another job

Cons

Benefits, pay scale and now we are going back to the office to work while the privileged get to continue wfh. My work life balance will change by spending my morning and evening stuck in traffic which will be added stress. I will have to Spend money on clothes, gas and lunch or spend my time in the evening preparing lunch while the others will get to sleep in and wear shorts all day and be home at the end of their shift while the unlucky people will once again be held up in traffic and be micromanaged all day

IT department outsourced.

Pros

Facilities, PTO, benefits, handling of COVID

Cons

Grange recently outsourced almost all of IT. Only a handful of people in GTS (IT) are still Grange employees. The majority were let go. The people not let go are no longer Grange employees - they now work for Orion Innovation (managed Service Provider). The move has been called IT Transformation and a few other things. If you are truly proud of what you did and "Did the right thing" (Grange core value), call it what it really is. Outsourcing! Outsourcing! Outsourcing! The people let go were loyal, high-performing, contributing, team members with 100's of years of combined service and experience. I feel sorry for the people left behind to pick up the pieces and train the Orion consultants replacing their coworker who were let go.

Horrible management and incompetent IT

Pros

Nobody cares so you don’t have to either

Cons

The IT department does not know what they’re doing. Constant system problems involving thin client and core 4 which is a new system we are rolling out. The billing has been inaccurate and a disaster for almost a year with no end in sight. As an underwriter you’ll spend more time answering billing questions and trying to resolve billing and audit mistakes than underwriting policies. Management is out of touch with the day today problems of billing and audit since we switched vendors. The president actually indicated our relationship with Agents have never been better meanwhile on the front lines they have had it. He is out of touch. How can I sell insurance for a company that I don’t even believe is the best carrier to place business with? Customer service outsourced resulting in more dings to the already disastrous customer service experience. 401k contribution was reduced to 6% and they reduced max co bonus by half. Bonuses were also taken away from the uw techs.
