Pros

The passion of Granicus' founders was easily the best part of the company. In their continuing effort to improve government transparency and efficiency they hired a team full of like minded people who fed off the enthusiasm and truly believed in the company's vision. Speaking only of the time prior to K1 (June 2014) purchase, Granicus culture was progressive, inclusive and fun. Additional benefits were Monday morning breakfast, occasional lunches and parties as well as a few after work gatherings.

Cons

Company direction has always leaned heavily on the founder's passion for providing government technology and less on operational management. Internal product training was weak and not highly prioritized. Product deployment is slow (this is in part due to client base and in part due to limited internal resources) Granicus sits on the lower end of the compensation spectrum and compensation plans for sales reps and account managers are competitive in percentage but take a long time to be paid out. Since the K1 acquisition, the founder and CEO was replaced (unceremoniously) product development has stopped, deployment has slowed, the headquarters has moved to Denver and the majority of the staff has either been laid off or quit due to low morale. A new culture will develop with the almost entirely new team in Colorado. The transition has been handled poorly on all parts. The employees found out about the company's move through a news article, learned of their layoffs from finding their jobs posted on Glassdoor.

Pros

There is nothing good about this place anymore

Cons

All the corporate execs are in the US, but they are outsourcing most other (already underpaid) roles to third world countries for even cheaper labor. They like to call it "geographical balancing" and make it seem like diversity and inclusion, but it's clearly only about money, they couldn't care less about their employees.

Pros

Staff is very friendly and everyone gets along. Work from home. You get a $100/ month utility credit each month and $500 when you start to buy a desk, chair, etc. They provide great HR resources to find answers quickly and everything is up to date. Benefits are okay but I expected better for a company with over 1k employees.

Cons

Low pay. Understaffed. Not hiring in the US but will pay people in India half as much to do the same job. The employee retention is horrible. I've seen so many people leave or get laid off then others acquire their responsibilities without a pay increase. It wouldn't surprise me if the CEO is preparing to sell the company soon and in the meantime trying to get as much money as he can.
