Pros

Completely remote. Good peers. That's it. Stop counting.

Cons

AI is killing the industry. This app isn't essential, accountants can handle the projects in spreadsheets without the needs of this software that isn't the leader anyway. This software is just for US productions and most of the productions are running overseas. The CEO decided to bring investors who wants their money back and the profits are you going down in the last 2 years, so the math isn't good, do more with less. Layoffs of 30% of the company in 2024, no salary increases in the last 2 years, new HHRR manager, previous one was fired. They had good times during pandemic, but now is dying this software, this industry. Again no need to pay for this software.

Thank you for the feedback. While we appreciate your perspective, there are some inaccuracies we would like to clarify. First, we have provided salary increases across the board to our employees every year, and the past two years were no exception. Second, while we did indeed have a shift in our strategy to adapt to the industry downturn, this was the first time in our history that we had to release some members of our team. It is important to note that your numbers do not reflect reality. It was an incredibly difficult decision to make, as we had some amazing, dedicated people working for us. As with most organizations, it is vital to stay focused on the evolving market. Failing to do so would be a disservice to our customers, employees, and investors. We have a strong culture and a strong offering, which is reflected in our 4.7★ Glassdoor rating as of today. We are excited about the future. I welcome a conversation to provide even further transparency, so I strongly encourage you to reach out.

Pros

Remote work, competitive salary and benefits, work retreats and fun events, hardworking, dedicated employees, lots of PTO and potential to earn more PTO, diverse workforce

Cons

The company as a whole strives to make things easy for clients and potential clients (which is great), however, a lot of the work to keep these promises to said clients falls on the shoulders of the very busy and stressed out payroll team. Paymasters are working well over 45 hours a week just to get everything done, a lot of the work needs to be performed on the backend so naturally, things get missed, clients become unhappy, and the payroll team is almost always solely to blame. My coworkers were all great but I couldn’t continue to perform well at this job without some of our concerns being addressed or made a priority. For example, some paperwork would be turned in by employees after we had already completed their digital start work, and there was no way of knowing these documents needed our attention. It’s not feasible for a paymaster with a very full plate, to go into each employees profile for every project they have to check if additional documents had been submitted by the employees. Some projects have 1,000 or more employees. This would essentially be a full time job, as documents can be submitted by employees at any time, right in the middle of payroll and we would have no way of knowing. The stress of this plus other factors in my personal life led me to leave. Having no work life balance for even a small amount of time left me feeling burnt out and like I couldn’t perform this job for the long haul.

Pros

- Generally cool intriguing people - Collaborative/communicative individuals present, one can learn a lot from processes

Cons

- Leadership is lacking in areas, direction is unclear for certain teams and their potential growth - Self-Development path for employees not defined - Long term objectives aren't clear to the rest of the teams - Bureaucracy is starting to take hold - Constant context switching during situations show lack of focus/prioritization in what needs to be done
