Pros

Benefits are great, also if you work at an operation or the corporate office the food is good, plenty of good people work throughout all levels of management, easy to be promoted if you are good at your job

Cons

the company tries to apply hotel and restaurant management principals across the board, and it just doesn’t work. The cooporate office is over stretched for the size of the company and it is difficult to get IT support, help from HR, and payroll is slow and reluctant to solve problems. Likewise on the operations side, the company is stretched so thin that the pressure to cut costs and generate revenue is at times dangerous. The company has a bad record in DC, companies would often refuse to work with GSI.

Pros

Discounts on company properties and free lunch when you visit corporate.

Cons

I am not sure they understand the way the world works. They seem oblivious to the voice of employees or even consultants they hire. There is no structure for learning your actual job or how you will be measured. The compensation is below market. It becomes a slap in the face when you realize that the corporate employees have lunch prepared everyday on site.

Pros

Variety of jobs, beauty and/or interest of locations, overall comraderie of diverse workforce. Opportunity to serve, even get to know an ecclectic clientele.

Cons

No apparent interest in maintaining a cohesive staff. Very high turnover. Overall poor management. Uninventive menus. Caustic behavior between managers and toward frontline staff.
