Pros

— The culture is refreshingly open. You're free to approach and have conversations with Directors and VPs directly, which makes you feel valued and heard regardless of your level. — Guidewire works with the latest technologies in the industry and provides access to modern AI-powered tools and other productivity tools that genuinely make day-to-day work easier and more efficient. — The team follows industry-wide best practices like SDD and TDD, which ensures high-quality deliverables and helps you grow as a disciplined engineer. — The company regularly conducts sessions to help engineers improve their technical skills and grow in their careers. Dedicated upskill weeks are a standout initiative that shows real investment in employee development. — Various culture committees organize activities across technical and fun domains, supporting holistic growth — not just professional, but personal too. — Guidewire genuinely cares about its people. The health and mental well-being support is strong, backed by industry-best insurance coverage, complimentary meals, free cab facilities, and several other lifestyle perks. — The engineers here are top-notch, collaborative, and supportive. The overall vibe is warm — colleagues treat you like family, which makes coming to work genuinely enjoyable.

Cons

— The current work timings are strict with limited flexibility. While I understand this is being discussed with leadership, having some degree of flexibility would be a significant improvement. — The 3-day in-office policy (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) is mandatory with no room for adjustment. A bit more flexibility in choosing in-office days would go a long way in improving work-life balance.

Pros

- Strong engineering talent is available in Bangalore and globally and has a good collaborative culture. - We get to work with products which has real customer impact. Working on critical systems for insurers gives a clear sense of purpose and technical challenges rather than just feature deivery - Exposure to modern engineering and AI practices. At Guidewire, we heavily invest in AI use cases, cloud native architecture, CI/CD and automation. - The Bangalore location has end to end ownership. Having product management, engineering teams and leadership all co-located helps in faster decision making and innovation. - Good work–life balance

Cons

- Not all teams are at the same level of maturity in cloud native development and CI/CD, so experiences can vary depending on the team - Different teams used different tools and conventions, which created context switching overhead and made standardisation harder for managers having multiple teams. But harmonization initiatives are in progress.
