      Pros

      Passionate individuals on the store level that have quickly become friends. Most Store Managers I've met have been competent. Employee discounts on gear.. Matching funds for 401k is decent. Benefits are surprisingly of very good quality.

      Cons

      Moving "up" to Customer Service Lead.. dock in pay, no commission, and doing management duties but not getting paid like one.

      Pros

      10 cent coffee, can wear hats, 45 minute lunches, product training for instruments

      Cons

      Very very strict on attendance and breaks, don't adjust schedule if needed. If you cant work that early, is basically "be late until you get fired then" kind of thing.

      Pros

      If you enjoy music and are a musician, it's a great place to work. Special deals on gear and services along with exposure and collaboration with other musicians and artists make Guitar Center a unique job opportunity.

      Cons

      Guitar Center has shifted from its core competency and upper management continues to drive business down believing they have the formula for retail success. The fact that a 2.5 billion dollar company has operated with no stated core values for the past couple of years tells the story. Misguided might understate their current position. Until they do a complete overhaul in how they conduct business, Guitar Center will continue to lose market share.
