Pros

The benefits are pretty good. It's one of two places in the area that pays well.

Cons

Good old boy system still in place. Jobs only posted with people already in mind. Not diverse in any capacity. 18,000 people employed but still operates like a mom and pop shop so not globalized at all. Small-town mindset. No way to progress unless you kiss butt or are a white man. Teaches its employees how to lie to federal agencies. Will not drug test the entire company because they know at least 10% would be fired immediately. HR exists to protect managers. Ethics exists to protect the company. If you raise questions, you will be held down and they will find a way to fire you. If your manager does not like you, you will not get anywhere in the company.

Pros

I work with some great, smart people. Pay and benefits are good.

Cons

Unfortunately, those great, smart people are not usually the ones promoted. The sycophants and "yes men" are, however. And when I say "yes men," I literally mean men. Women can forget about getting ahead here. Senior leadership does not value the skills we bring to to the table. And work-life balance is a joke. There is alot of lip service paid to safety and quality, but we all know the bottom line is schedule and money.

Pros

Stable job. You will literally have to mess up very, very badly to loose your job.

Cons

Spineless management, no motivation to innovate, Something is only a problem if it impacts schedule, completely disinterested in individual's professional development, archaic work policies, completely run (and being ruined) by the local southern gentlemen and if you are not one of them, too bad for you; Knowledge is power and the powers to be hold on to their knowledge and are never willing to share and mentor.
