Pros

They have the bones and broad strokes of a FAANG-like tech company. Ok pay, decent benefits, some ok perks and offices.

Cons

- The company prides themselves on being different and thoughtful (i.e. Managers are called "People Empowerers" and Recruiting is "Invite") but when it comes time to exercise this care in tough situations they fall flat. People were laid off over text message (via Workday) after being reassured time and time again by leaders that layoffs weren't going to happen. Way to walk the walk. - Rumors flourished that after these layoffs that managers were told not to interact with terminated employees in any way. - I didn't work directly with the CEO, but I worked with enough of his directs to know that he is famously indecisive and doesn't seem like the right fit for a company that has scaled this far. - Given how the leaders in my org ended up being pretty poor overall, I wish I'd have taken my other offer.

Pros

Great healthcare benefits Better than average hourly pay. Office is nice and has meals. The people you work with are all lovely.

Cons

Career advancement seems promising but all you can do is move laterally into similar dead end roles. Salaried wages are low. Need to leave the company if you want real promotion Leadership (the CEO) makes big changes that aren’t backed by solid data. CEO does not care about IPO and just doesn’t want to be accountable to a board. Mid-level management LOVES gossip and lack real leadership experience.

Pros

Good benefits and your team members are usually amazing (not management)

Cons

I haven’t worked here for close to a year (thank everything that is good) but I still think about the misery I experienced while at this job. My first piece of advice, if you are even a little overly empathetic DO NOT work here. You will have to listen to people terrified of losing everything they worked for due to the errors of this company. You have no solutions to offer them other than “I have sent this again to the correct team, but their follow up time is 60 business days. I hope your company doesn’t crumble due to tax fraud before then, good luck.” They then leave a review about how useless you are, which they’re not wrong. You are not given the tools to actually do anything. It feels awful. I woke up regularly in the middle of the night in a panic attack thinking about the next day of work. It is a truly horrible environment. The only thing that matters is your metrics, which are set to a truly impossible standard. As someone who holds themselves to a high standard everyday was a battle. You work your hardest, ask for any help you can get and it will NEVER be enough. They love to tell you how amazing it is to work here, how lucky to are to be apart of a company that cares so deeply, but actions speak louder than words. Good luck growing with this company. There is no room for growth and your constantly being told what a failure you are (in corporate speak, of course). From reviews it seems like non customer facing roles might not be the living hell this role was, but even if I was offered one of those I could never in good conscious ever work for a company that treats their employees and customers the way they do. And I beg of you, if you value a work life balance and your sanity do not fall for the lies like I and so many others do. Take a good hard look at all their amazing “5 star” reviews with zero actual content other than “great company”. I feel dumb for ever falling for the lies. I wish everyone still trapped in this job the very best. And do what’s best for you.
