Pros

Something I liked about H&M was how much the company wanted to make a difference. H&M has a lot of sustainability goals. They also have extensive training videos that ensured an employee knows everything they need to know before their first day. I loved the employee discount as well.

Cons

The cleanliness of the store was gross. The hired cleaning people didn't really do their jobs. Bathroom and break room were pretty gross consistently. I tried to move up in position due to my college degree and previous retail experience. I felt like they automatically decided I wouldn't move up in position and did't interview or even speak with me about potentially not being a good fit, or too new to the company, etc.

Pros

You get 25% off of all store merch. Every shift gets a paid 15 minutes. Also they are a fairy organized company, because there is almost a system or protocol for everything in the store. Overall the work is easy, but exhausting. Here everyone is expected to always be doing something.

Cons

VERY LOW PAY for sales associates not negotiable. I worked there for over 3 years, and the hourly rate for everyone here is 15.50. They do not raise it, and if they do its by a couple of cents. The most I ever got in the past was 0.13 cent raise. IT IS NOT A SUSTAINABLE WAGE for anyone in 2023, also hours aren't steady. From the time January-end of May hours are cut hard. I typically work 30+ hours a week and during this period they are typically cut in half or less. Also H&M never closes, rarely. This one is located in the south shore plaza mall which never closes even in the case of a storm or anything really. You are expected to work all holidays except Christmas and thanksgiving DAY (AT NIGHT like midnight you do work to prep for black Friday) Also you need to have open availability on weekends. Also if you want a day off you need to schedule it at least 2+ weeks in advance, so get someone to cover you shift. Which tends to be kind of hard at the moment since they are understaffed.

Worst Company Ever

Pros

Some of the pros is that you get early access to see new collections. You work alongside a team so there is support.

Cons

Management has their favorites and will bully those they don't like. There are many different teams, not the ONE TEAM they speak of. Development is lacking. Management could not care less about your growth. There are no raises given. Merchandising is strictly limited to the pages. There is no clear communication.
