Pros

-great health/dental/vision benefits -good vacation accrual -good company for those who are just beginning their career in retail, they will provide you will tactical skills -clear routines and processes for the organization

Cons

where do I start??? -the company has 7 values they live by but no one really practices it truly, it's really just a bunch of BS -huge workload, high expectations and no positive feedback given just constructive -district team consisting of a sales manager, controller, visual, facilities, security, and HR do absolutely nothing! they visit, call out all the things being done incorrectly and most of all aren't even friendly or inspirational. JUST COMPLETELY LAZY! too many cooks in the kitchen doing nothing. need I say more? -store managers are put into the role without having the basic leadership competentcies. they will teach you all the tactical skills but have very little skills on the interpersonal. development is more than teaching the technical part of your job, it also requires interpersonal skills to deal with people. -compensation is below average but you are told it's above other retailers. do the research, you will find it's not the case -promotions are based on a popularity contest and favoritism not on the true skillset of performing your job description -if you want to move into management, if you are liked, perform at your job and say yes to everything, you will move up quickly. if you are seen as someone who speaks their mind and gives push back respectfully and disagrees with the norm, then say goodbye to your career growth as these attributes will slow ur career down at this company -the company focuses way too much on efficiency but has ultimately lost at effectiveness at being a leader -there is a difference between being a leader and a manager. h&m can create managers not leaders -managers are never on the same page due to a lack of common goals. everyone has their own agenda
