Toxic Culture

Pros

Market recognition - well known in the legal space and is probably the front-runner AI tool for legal at the moment. Comp was good for the role, benefits are on par with industry. It's a good brand to have on your result (at the moment of writing anyways)

Cons

Where to even start. One of the founders just unceremoniously dipped out. The other is usually MIA and doesn't interact with anyone in the company save a handful of other leaders. The product leadership is awful. No vision at all besides being a slightly different interface for GPT-4o. Sales leadership - I'm conflicted about this. On one end they are closing business. On the other end - I've never been part of such a fearful culture. Everyone is constantly waiting for the hammer tor drop, and when it does they let people go with no explanation. Coworkers are constantly searching Slack for deactivated profiles, then the rumor mill starts because leadership is too scared to address this stuff head on. Worst handling of this sort of thing I've ever experienced in my career. Innovation is frowned upon. If you try to do something the least bit innovative you'll upset the other feudal lords protecting their fiefdoms. The level of politics you must navigate to work here is surpassed only by that in Washington. The product itself - I had trouble actually showing some of the use cases for fear of the lawyers we're presenting to digging in any further and uncovering how truly fragile the systems are. There doesn't seem to be much understanding of how lawyers actually work baked into the product. Best we can do is an open ended chat interface and hope the lawyers just figure it out and find their own value in it.

Not a ton to say here given the level of frustration in your review, except that we've invested a ton in helping our reps succeed and in providing more clarity around how we manage performance. Winston did a session with our GTM team in NYC last week and Gabe was leading the way at our eng recruiting event last week in SF, so while I don't want to refute elements of your personal experience and their validity, it's important to clarify both cofounders are engaged actively and figuring out how best to spend their time and energy for the next stage of our growth as a company. -Katie

Lacking

Pros

The offering resonates strongly with the market, with massive untapped potential still ahead. The team is sharp, driven, and full of momentum

Cons

While there were some upsides, the concerns raised in critical reviews reflect the reality. The environment is driven more by anxiety and instability than collaboration, where advancing often felt like a zero-sum game. The messaging from leadership about teamwork and a performance-driven culture doesn’t align with the day-to-day experience. Morale is low across the board, and there’s little indication that things will improve anytime soon.

I've had a different experience on many of these items, but I do agree with you that progress happens with a combination of emotional intelligence, momentum, and experience--I think the good news is we are adding that across many roles, so I think/hope folks are feeling that and will continue to see up and to the right improvement there. -Katie

High Growth

Pros

-One of the fastest-growing AI companies with strong market potential -Highly intelligent and hardworking team -Positioned well in a rapidly expanding market -Challenging and engaging work, particularly with the buyer profile -Leadership is adaptable (in ways not always visible) and willing to pivot when needed, and do it quickly -Quotas are very high, but most fully ramped AEs exceeded 100% in Q4, with several AEs closing over 7 figures in ARR in just Q4 alone. Ramp is hard, but once you get passed it, there is a lot of opportunity to close very big deals -Company continues to meet aggressive quarterly ARR targets -Many customers absolutely love Harvey and have increased their spend quickly after initial land deals. -PMF is very good. Product is very good

Cons

-Harvey moves at a very fast pace, as you'd expect from a company growing this quickly. If you're looking for a highly structured, slow-moving environment, this may not be the right fit. The speed and change can be energizing for some, but overwhelming for others — and that’s okay. -Depending on your role, success here often requires more than a standard 9–5 commitment. -As we've scaled rapidly, internal communication hasn’t always kept up, which can sometimes create confusion around where to go for help or information. -A few folks joined expecting a ‘rocketship’ experience without realizing it still takes ownership and grit. When expectations don’t match reality, it can lead to frustration and negativity.

I think all of this feedback is really thoughtful and balanced, and I think your feedback specifically on internal comms is more than fair, and something I'll continue to action on. I like your callout that if you're looking for perfect structure and mid-level pace, Harvey at this stage is likely not the best bet--I think that's helpful context for candidates. On it on transparency and continuing to be mindful of hiring leaders with scale experience, thank you for making the time to write and share this feedback! -Katie
