Pros

Decent benefits, decent salaries, nice people.

Cons

Turning too many functions into centralized departments- HIM, RPAS, HR. Takes away from the individuality of the different hospitals.

Pros

The benefits package is very nice and there is a culture of performance. People actually do their jobs as instructed and, when appropriate, are rewarded accordingly.

Cons

In many ways a good thing, HCA is a for-profit corporation. Yes, they give back to the community and the people are (at least) as nice as those at any other company, but there isn't the same focus on helping others that can be seen at non-profit hospitals.
