Pros

- Outstanding company culture. - Management open to feedback and will genuinely and actively engage in department improvements. - Encouraged to pursue internal and external personal development with annual education fund. - Encouraged to pursue healthier lifestyle with annual health fund and HRAs which roll over indefinitely. - Opportunity for vertical and horizontal growth/development. - Executive interest in long term wealth of employees. The company offers competitive 401k, HRA accounts, annual profit sharing, and stock options. - Many, many more.

Cons

Every con I could list has been addressed since working here. Management takes feedback seriously and legitimate concerns have action plans created to create lasting resolutions.

Pros

Full Disclosure: I am in management here and came to do a review to lend a different perspective. I have been in software product development for 25 years and have been at HCSS for 4 years. In that time, I have been in leadership roles helping the company double in revenue and roll out a whole new generation of mobile and web applications that are setting us up for many years of healthy growth. I can honestly say that this is the best job I have ever had. Why? - Our customers fanatically love us - We are a stable 30 year old market leader - We act and work like a "hungry" start up - There org is very flat - Very little politics - We are doing cool work in SaaS with fresh mobile and web applications - The people I work with act empowered and put action and decisiveness over analysis and risk mitigation - We are getting pretty good at launching new products - We are adopting new cultural norms focused on better collaboration, communication, intent, commitment management and focus on results. This is not a superficial change, but fundamental cultural change that is impacting the company performance.

Cons

The next few years will be challenging as we push through the 300-400 employee levels. We are maturing the next generation of middle management and that should help us make it through the growing pains, but it will be challenging none the less.

Pros

Incredible work environment, freedom to help influence decisions, advancement opportunities, career development, openness to improving if something is a problem, flexible work hours, the vast majority of your coworkers are good workers and interesting people, endless amenities, extremely generous benefits & vacation policies. This company does a lot to support the community around them. They provide a lot of opportunities for entry-level jobs and train people on the job while they are getting paid. They have high standards, so the interview process is challenging, but it also means everyone here is great. Hands down the best job I've ever had. (And I've had a lot of jobs in my career.)

Cons

I don't feel there are a lot of downsides to working here. There are problems, for sure, but a lot of it is more about individuals than the organization itself. People with poor performance or attitudes will likely have a difficult time here. Your mileage may vary.
