Pros

Product and Finance teams seem OK.

Cons

The other recent reviewer who left 1 star nailed it on the head-- Clueless executives, incredible amount of toxic politics across leadership, Low emotional intelligence across executives and middle management in CS, Sales, Marketing, and CEO. Executives and middle management are clueless, inexperienced, which isn't surprising being that many of them came from failing companies. This company has an incredible amount of dysfunction, and they are unknowingly squandering the companies little potential with their poor decision making. Incredible amount of attrition across Marketing, CS, and Sales teams. Firings and personnel changes are not communicated or explained.. People just vanish. As the other reviewer said, anyone with rational thoughts is ousted, and only the ones who are complacent to the toxicity, and kiss up to the VPs are getting traction. Unfortunately kissing up to VPs is not going to benefit one's professional career much, as the poor processes and "learnings" in this company are not indicative of a modern tech company. RUN!!

Dear Current Employee, We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. I am sorry that you have a negative opinion of HG’s leadership. I take pride in being CEO of a company that is honest, transparent, communicative, and works hard. I am most proud that our culture maintains a respectful environment for everyone. I take any and all feedback very seriously. In March, we completed our yearly employee survey with a 100% response rate. Our employees said that they are excited to be working for HG and were complimentary of the leadership team. In fact, 90% of employees agree that HG is a great place to work and are proud to work for HG. A similar proportion believes our executive team does an excellent job of communicating. One of our employees says, “I am thankful for the way that our leadership team leads from the front, works hard, and focuses on driving value for the business. HG values employees as people with needs outside of work.” Employee satisfaction and their hard work is the main reason we have been able to consistently grow 45-55% for the past five years. We have had no attrition in our Customer Success team in the past year, and in fact, that team is growing! Unfortunately, in any company some people leave for various reasons, and we support those as they move on to other opportunities. I would like to discuss your issues directly with you. Though we believe we have a world-class company and culture, I’m sure you can help us improve it. Please contact me by any method – email, Slack, my mobile phone, etc. I look forward to the conversation. Sincerely, Elizabeth Cholawsky, CEO

For SDR's:

Pros

Great place to work as an SDR. Product engages C-level execs, both on phone and by email. It's strange to go back and forth with the CXO of an enterprise SaaS company over the course of a few days/weeks, speaking the same language. Great onboarding process (Mannie!) and calculus for success through dialing (Ian!). Team is always happy to help out, both managers and other SDR's. Potential to smash it is borderline endless. Tons of titles/departments in an org could conceptually use HG, conveying this isn't the hardest sell out there. The art of the possible with HG's offering is strong and SDR's leverage this.

Cons

Cons of SDRing at HG are minimal. Gender split is bad (one girl in the US, one in the UK). Dial heavy culture (probably not a con for some). Org as a whole is going through growing pains. SDR's feel this to some extent, but you're fairly immune. The SDR engine hums along as it should while other departments try to figure it out. This presents an issue with promotion, though. After 12-24 months, you can push for commercial AE if you kill it as an SDR. Commercial AE's struggle for a myriad of reasons. Not super inspiring. If you want to go to a different department or business unit, it’s on you to figure it out. Not impossible to do, but close enough to mention. SDR talent usually takes AE promotion for the title/experience or leaves at this point.

Good People to Work With

Pros

HG definitely invests in their people and treat them very well. There are a lot of employee appreciation events and most managers really seem to want to do best by their employees. I can't speak for all departments but certain department managers really took the time to invest in their employees, empower them, and were very supportive.

Cons

There are managers that are very hard to work with and are not supportive or empowering. There can be some instances of favoritism, it becomes evident that there are certain employees that are given more leeway or perks and some that others are more or less ignored.
