A meat grinder of office politics and no opportunities.
Pros
Located close to main road with a bus stop if needed.
Cons
Low wages. Micro managing managers. No staff rights - they will start you on a 3 month probationary period promising to let you go permanent if they deem you to be ready otherwise they start your 3 months rolling again. I knew people there who had been this probationary period for 2 or 3 years! The advantage for HGS is that the staff are considered temporary hence have no rights and can be fired at the drop of a hat if need be. Nobody including the managers appeared to know what they were doing. The business is purely target driven, resolving client issues is of secondary importance. Managers encourage informing on colleagues behind their back which creates an atmosphere of backstabbing office politics. Need to arrive 15 mins early in order to get the systems booted up and running, and also need to get back early from the (already short) breaks for the same reason - all of this time is unpaid of course. Even going to the lavatory can be risky as managers may accuse you of spending a minute or two too long on your 'comfort break'.
