Toxic Work Environment & Lack of Support from Upper Management
Pros
If there were any, they were overshadowed by the toxic work culture. Potentially a good place for those who thrive in high-pressure environments with little support (though not recommended).
Cons
Toxic work environment – Fear-based leadership, contradictory messages from upper management. Lack of support from corporate/upper management – No guidance or backing when issues arise. Unrealistic expectations – Especially during hotel remodeling and transition periods. Poor communication & dishonesty – Corporate would provide incorrect information to ownership. Lack of job security – Leadership made comments about "reevaluating jobs," creating uncertainty. Unfair treatment & retaliation – Written up with false information, no opportunity to discuss concerns. Loss of bookings & unfair sales goals – Contracts signed, then bookings taken away, making it impossible to hit targets. Underappreciation & undervaluation – Hard work not recognized or rewarded. Overworked & underpaid – High expectations with little to no support. Vacation policy inconsistencies – I provided notice of my vacation six months in advance, it was initially approved, but during my time off, my Regional attempted to write me up for taking it. Broken promises – Was promised a remote workday upon hiring, later told it would not be honored despite having written proof of the agreement.
