      Pros

      Good benefits, competitive compensation, multiple disciplines employed to work with and get a holistic view of the shipyard and the business of shipbuilding.

      Cons

      Unutilization of EIT's and no real use for PE's. There are a select few employees that have a PE in the shipyard and it is very hard to get into a department with one of them to gain proper experience for an EIT to obtain their own respective PE licensure.

      Pros

      High pay for Intern. Was making approximately $15 an hour, working about 45 hours a week. Required to do absolutely nothing while at work.

      Cons

      There was absolutely no work for me. About 4 days a week I would sit at my desk and ask my supervisor for work when she would not have any I would sit and read a book. On days I did have work, I would then be handed a stack of folders to put in alphabetical order. This was the peak of my week when working.

      Pros

      I liked the opportunity for overtime and great pay. The management really helped the employees reach their goals they wanted.

      Cons

      It was a culture of slack. Everyone tried to do as little as possible because advancement was pretty much based on seniority and it was automatic for the most part. You didn't get ahead by being a hard worker.
