Pros

HITT has a proven track record of being a successful construction company nationwide. Despite the size of the company, you feel like everyone knows you and you belong when you walk in HQ. The recognition you get for doing your job is second to none. Whether you're brand new to the industry like I was, or transferring with experience, HITT has the systems in place to continue to build your knowledge of the company and the industry as a whole. HITT University is a great perk of working at HITT that sometimes goes unmentioned. Regardless of your title, you are required to take classes led by the company's experienced employees that gives you insight into things such as: Reading Construction Drawings, Construction Math, Public Speaking, CPR, OSHA, and other practices that embody The HITT Way. All of my colleagues at HITT agree with me when I say I am so glad I found HITT, because I would never want to work anywhere else after being employed here.

Cons

This company is quite large, but it is just more room for career opportunities.

Pros

Americon was a semi-known name in the industry was acquired by a large national player - HITT Contracting. Americon had some skeletons which are being properly buried and now a few years into this NYC market, the company is gaining a strong foothold. The work model is demanding but provides huge opportunity for growth, compensation, and aims (successfully) to teach the "right way" to execute project to owner satisfaction (and beyond)

Cons

The (sometimes) bad reputation that the Americon name has prevents the company from really spreading it's wings in this market.
