Pros

Great compensation. Excellent health coverage packages that are very reasonably priced. Great 401k with matching. Some telework opportunities.

Cons

Very little schedule flexibility. Not very military friendly - supporting Guard or Reservist work. Much of paid vacation must be used on military off days instead of at employee's leisure. No flexibility for doctor or other appointments - employee must take leave or leave without pay. Inadequate policy, regulation, HR training. Inadequate on boarding process. Senior Management not helpful. Not much growth opportunity - difficult to promote. No formal form of performance feedback.

Get to take part in cutting edge research at NASA Glenn Research Center. Fairly competitive benefits and salary starting out. Good people and supportive mentors/managers.

Cons

Government bureaucracy. It takes forever to get anything actually done. Nature of working for a government agency.

Great pay but absolutely no training provided

Cons

There is no training plan in place during the pandemic. I asked for training and offended several Leads. This is not a company that values having written training plans or process and procedures.

In this case, the training requested was an indication that the individual did not have the expected experience or skill set to perform successfully in this Senior-level position.
