Low pay, low-quality inbound leads, awful management, "leadership" has no idea what they're doing, and I'm sure they have no idea on how to scale their offerings

Every day we make a massive difference in the world - people getting money for hacking, life changing money sometimes, heart warming work Great product and great delivery team - customers love working with HackerOne, it makes work enjoyable Always something new to learn Innovators in everything, from the design of our datepicker to how to manage in a remote working environment Flexible working great for parents and others who need to juggle

Chromebooks are awful and macbook pros are in short supply Remote work and a flat hierarchy can make decision making slow Slack communications for important things, go away for a week or two and you can miss a lot in the noise Somehow there is a zeal for pie charts in all sorts of unexpected corners

Pros

Mission and Employees: HackerOne is a reputable company and brand that is committed to its valuable mission. As a startup, it has experienced both successes and setbacks, but has used each as an opportunity to learn and improve. The founders are dedicated and unwavering in their pursuit of the company's mission, and the leadership team has undergone changes that have propelled the company's growth. The employees, who are passionate about the mission and embody the spirit of the hacker, are what truly make HackerOne exceptional. Benefits: Unlimited PTO, Wellness Wednesday, etc. were great.

Cons

HackerOne places its mission above employee salary. This is unfortunate as the cost of retaining quality employees may be less than the time and resources spent on recruiting and training new ones. Additionally, HackerOne should consider implementing a more equitable compensation structure, like eliminating location-based salaries, to remain competitive with other technology companies that offer equal pay across the board.

We cannot agree more about our stellar CEO and the powerhouse founders that continue to be a big part of our business and future. Compensation can often be a reason someone leaves, and we understand that. While larger and more profitable companies can pay employees a higher salary, that often comes at the expense of upside in career growth, experience, and equity. HackerOne offers a total rewards package that is competitive with the market, allows our employees to have flexible working conditions, and prioritizes skills and developments that other companies do not provide. We complete a compensation review cycle each year and this model is fair and equitable for all employees. As needed, we make changes.
