Pros

I liked the store managers that I dealt with and your schedule is flexible

Cons

Pay is poor. Hallmark pays for "the job" rather than the qualifications and background of "the person" who is hired. Hours are limited in stores so you might have to leave the store looking messy and incomplete because they do not allow enough time to finish and you'll be called on the carpet if you go over your scheduled hours. If you like things to look good before you leave, this might not be the job for you. Lastly, it is SO, SO sad to see perfectly good and expensive product, destroyed in dumpster when they "redo" a store. Books, wrapping paper, stuffed animals...anything Hallmark carried in the store gets dumped-even if the store down the street has the EXACT same items. That makes me sick to think they will not donate or try to transfer to another store...NOPE. It's just trash. Think about how much you pay for a Hallmark card. There's the reason

Pros

Discounts, customers enjoyed fellow employees

Cons

Not enough hours in a day to accomplish the amount of work to accomplish on any given day, VERY physical work constantly rebuilding shelving and displays, not having proper time to do it, little to no instruction or training and finally being ridiculed for doing it wrong. Thankless work. No support from DM or HR
