Pros

- you get to try very different projects - you learn how to communicate with different stakeholders (both internal Hanover employees and clients) quickly and clearly - you learn to do things fast

Cons

- strict deadline: it was good when you first started, cause you have a sense of time and focus on your project; but this could get really stressful and tired when you've been working for a while - slowly you get tired of the work - built within the business model, there can be a lot of efficiency wasted in creating a project - you spend 4-5 days on a project, someone will edit it. when the report is handed to the client, it may be one month later.....if the researcher could be given this much time to finish the project, the quality will be much better - you get evaluated for each projects, which means you'd better not make any mistake in the reports/ or any deliverable. This can get stressful in a longer term - not a very collaborative environment - the co-workers are smart and helpful, but they are also busy, and the nature of the work doesn't require much interaction within co-workers. You can stay in the company and don't talk to anyone for a whole day.

Thank you for your feedback. The cons you mentioned are items we continue to work on improving, specifically collaboration and changing how projects are evaluated, however deadlines are an aspect of all jobs and we will always need to meet the expectations of our clients including delivering their projects to them on deadline and error free.

Pros

-The work is quite varied, which means two things: a) access to a lot of experience, such as different industries, quantitative and qualitative research methods, and platforms. b) plenty of opportunities to feel like you're working with something new and avoid feeling bored. -The people you work with are often smart and entertaining. -In my experience, the managers really do care about their entry level employees, such as their professional development and work-life balance.

Cons

-The varied work means that deadlines can sometimes feel arbitrary or overly strict. -Everyone can be so focused on their own work that individual employees might learn a better way to do something and it will take a while to get the word out. However, there are clear steps to correct this.

Pros

The atmosphere was challenging, but the company skews young, which made it an enjoyable place to work. It's almost a built in social group.

Cons

The project timelines are very short - approximately one week to generate extensive research.

Thank you so much for your feedback. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed the work atmosphere and spending time with your colleagues. Our clients and partners set very high expectations in terms of product quality and turnaround times and we are clear during the hiring process that the research role is deadline driven and competitive however I can appreciate that this can be very challenging at times. We have been and will continue to invest in training and professional development during the first few months in seat to train and support our research staff as they learn to manage their project loads and deadlines, but if you are still experiencing difficulties with the project turnaround times, please speak with your L&D trainer, your Personal Manager, your Content Director or come directly to me so that we can work together to alleviate the challenges. I do like your idea about building in an hour of protected time a week for mentoring/collaboration and have already passed this on to the research leadership. Hopefully we will be able to incorporate this into the workflow in some capacity. Again, thank you for your feedback.
