An HR department that gives lip service to associate concerns and literally allows “manager discretion [to] take precedence over corporate policy”...corporate policies that are written so vague as to allow managers to apply (or not) whenever they want. Lack of clear definition in policies. Management and above (salaried) that are so out of touch with the challenges of everyday associates (hourly) who are making changes to leave balances that usually ends up with the associates getting earned leave taken away with no compensation. Executive leadership and mid-level management that stop at nothing to gaslight the associates. Same leadership creating and enforcing organization wide policies because management is too weak to address the few problem associates, thus creating an environment in which employees do not feel trusted, feel as if their work ethic is questioned, and feel as if they are being treated like grade-school children. When a vast majority are conscientious, hard working, and reliable employees.
All in all, an organization that claims to care (“I-CARE”) about the community and the patients but wholly misses the most important step—genuinely caring for the people in the organization providing that care.
The associates at HF need to band together and bring in the union.
