Pros

Dynamic environment, caring associates, even though senior leadership has an inhumane lack of compassion, the associates themselves are compassionate and believe in the mission.

Cons

Leadership is completely detached. Senior IT leadership is outright malicious.

Pros

Coworkers. We try really hard to help each other out. But it’s so hard when we are all extremely short staffed. this is the “best” hospital system in this region.

Cons

Greedy organization trying to make up loses from bad deal. So they are cutting all corners. Really unsafe environment for patients and nurses risk their licenses on a daily basis. Known as wealth firstly instead of health first. 1. Unsafe ratios: it is the standard. Even when certain modalities such as crrt, balloon pumps, etc dictate 1:1 nursing care Icu is still 3:1 pcu 6:1 Lots of falls & pressure injuries in comparison to other hospitals. 2. inefficient charting system, scm is awful, and the charting is redundant. It takes up so much time to deal with tech issues that it takes a significant amount of time away from pt care when you’re already operating at beyond maximum patient loads. 3. Burn out. Nurses will tell you how exhausted they are. Management focuses on the minutia and micromanages. 4. New grads: most units are staffed with predominantly new nurses who aren’t trained properly and don’t know how poor the working conditions are. 5. Punitive, harsh, point system. 6. Under market pay value 7. Getting rid of incentive shifts, doing bonus contracts because of course that’s cheaper for the hospital. Imo, If you’re willing to accept poor working conditions and have anxiety over losing your license, or worse be criminally liable, this is the perfect place to work.
