Pros

There are very little pros at this point but the few are the team I get to work with and a small amount of people in different teams who actually want to do things right and not half-ass it, even if it's at the chagrin of their leader/management. They want to HELP and I wish I could call those people out but I hope they know they are appreciated by me.

Cons

HR, no accountability, basically devaluing/belittling the work I do on a daily basis, no prioritization, security breaches, constant lip service but no help from leadership/executive team, not paying people industry standards

Thank you for your review of HealthEquity on Glassdoor. In reading this review three times, it is clear you feel very strongly about your workplace experience, leadership, and even your "HR" team. Speaking from experience, reading anonymous comments about how you personally are perceived is quite tough. I'd describe it as a 'gut punch' where it takes you a while to digest to catch your breath again. Ben and Jerry's does help in the recovery. In all seriousness, we take any feedback serious. These comments have been shared and reviewed so that we can find lessons to learn. While we will do our best to achieve this, I do believe that we can achieve a lot more working together in productive dialogue. Organizations are not perfect for everyone but we have a higher probability for success in open meaningful dialogue and mutual understanding. I encourage and welcome any additional feedback. My role is identified in this response. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you for your contributions to HealthEquity.

Pros

No pros remain at HealthEquity. It has turned into a careless all about the shareholders and the c-suite shares in the company.

Cons

CEO is beyond disconnected, no support for existing clients, employees, etc. Jon Kessler- WE NEED YOU BACK!

Thank you for being so candid in sharing your perspective. We know how much passion our teammates and alumni have for HealthEquity and the mission that brought us all here. We’re sorry to hear that you’ve felt a loss of connection and support. Leadership transitions can be difficult, and we understand how strongly they can shape someone’s experience with the company. Feedback like yours is important. It helps our leaders see where teammates may feel disconnected and reminds us of the work we still have to do to earn trust and strengthen relationships.

Pros

Working from home is very nice, and what little is left of the purple culture.

Cons

I have been with this company for a year and a half, and unfortunately, my experience has only led to increasing disappointment. When I first started, I thought the challenges were just part of being new and navigating the learning curve. However, I've come to realize that this seems to be the daily operation — a constant struggle with unclear processes and shifting expectations. Navigation within internal teams is a nightmare. Processes frequently change week to week without any communication, making it incredibly hard to do my job effectively. Most colleagues just want to pass the buck and close cases internally, which inevitably results in a poor experience for our clients. The company has faced significant backlash from members, clients, and partners, especially following last year's security incident. The rollout of the new card was handled poorly.. whoever was responsible for that disaster should be held accountable. Client facing teams are under immense pressure and backlash due to what appears to be a lack of strong leadership and transparency. The recent layoffs, which have been communicated with little clarity, only add to the feeling of instability and mistrust. I was hopeful this could be a long-term home, but I no longer feel aligned with the company's values. Despite boasting about record breaking Q1 results, the morale and trust are pitiful. I suspect the numbers look less impressive after the layoffs. The leadership could do much better by focusing on supporting the employees doing the real work rather than tolerating managers who are often unavailable and offer little value. We're all exhausted, fed up, and the promised “transparency” feels hollow.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We know feedback like this comes from a place of wanting things to be better, and we take that seriously. The last year has brought real challenges—some of which have tested both our systems and our culture. While we’ve made difficult decisions in service of long-term stability, we know they’ve created uncertainty for many. We’re actively working to strengthen communication, clarify processes, and better support the teams doing the critical day-to-day work. We’re committed to rebuilding trust by staying focused on what matters: delivering for our members, supporting our people, and grounding every step we take in our values.
