Incredibly Rewarding Career
Pros
I spent 15 years serving the community as a social worker. Five years ago, I got sick with cancer. It was through that experience that I became a licensed insurance agent and began helping people with their insurance needs. This job is incredibly rewarding and I get to continue my days helping people in my community. What is best about this job, is that I can help protect people from the very situation I found myself in when I got sick...by helping them protect themselves financially from the costs of a catastrophic illness BEFORE they get sick. Not only is the job rewarding, but it allows you the freedom and flexibility to set your own hours and be your own boss. This is so important to me, as finding a healthy work/family life balance is one of my main priorities after being sick. You need to be able to motivate yourself to work hard to help others, but the possibilities are endless!
Cons
There have been no cons for me. My history of cancer makes me a better agent for my clients, and there is no where I would rather be and no job I would rather be doing!
