Pros

Great pay with residual opportunities. You can easily make 80k-100k your first year. During AEP they bring in food, prizes, gift cards and take care of those who work hard. Last AEP, myself and a few others made over 30K ( in a 7 week period). However, we had to work for it. It doesn't always come easy. There is a lot to take in when you first start (information) if you are a Broker. You need to really put in the effort up front. Don't complain, argue, or be that negative person who goes around telling everyone that you used to make so much more money before you started working there. When I first started, I worked 50-60 hours a week. Came in early, stayed late and put in the effort. Guess what...the results came. I make an honest $4500-6000 during non AEP months. During AEP I make about 35K. It gets easier the longer you stay. The leads do get better as you show an increase in production. Why on Earth would they give the best leads to the people complaining, whom are not producing and haven't proven themselves in any other way aside from being the office Debbie Downer. I now work about 40 hours a week, have a very flexible schedule and work from home from time to time. . Snowball effect applies. Work hard - things become easy and great very quickly. Complain - You end up getting let go /walking out and rushing home to write a complaint because you couldn't make it.

Cons

The Company is far from perfect and still has a lot of work to do. The benefits are not the best, training is being improved but still has a ways to go. Not a place to make a lot of friends (lots do not make it) Supervisors do not get paid enough. The room for opportunity is there...but why would someone want to make less money and take on more responsibility. Also upper Management needs to be more transparent. Many of the temps that get hired on during AEP are promised perm positions and are later let go without notice. Yes they are temps...but we could be a little more forward with them.

Great feedback! The part about working hard and being rewarded is true across the company. We acknowledge we are not perfect, but are striving to be the best in the industry. We constantly are looking at our benefits, our training programs, as well as our recruiting strategies. The important thing is that we continue to improve. Thank you for your input.

Pros

Great work life balance. With in reason they will work with you to help you accommodate work life balance. Management will work hard to fight for you when needs be, fellow brokers are friendly and is over all a great place to come to work everyday. The CEO/Owner is great, very approachable and friendly! Insurance Carriers do treat us well with catered lunches and free swag from time to time. Office has great intensives (however take FOREVER to get them). The money is what you make of it here. The more hours you are willing to put in the more money you can potentially make.

Cons

More, HONEST & OPEN communication. Upper level managment to lower level management. To many cooks in the kitchen in this company. We need less BIG money salary positions and more "Worker Bee's", to grow put your money in your Agents and watch the wildfire grow. Needs to be more open with what and where the company directive is going and forth coming with up to date information. A lot of sneaky stuff happens to employees who are hired during AEP season. So if your looking for a short time investment its worth the wild if not stay away from being hired during AEP. They do thin the staff a bit to much during the off season. The goals and quota are a bit unrealistic, as they tell you if you do X,Y, & Z, you will obtain goal and when you do said things it doesn't happen and now your getting a written coaching. The atmosphere has changed since they became more micro managed and less Broker/Agent focused.

Pros

Contract work. They pay for necessary training & licensing. Open enrollment period for health insurance. If you already work in the field and are just working to supplement income, will work for you as temp work for a few months in the busiest time of year for health insurance sales.Base hourly rate plus spiffs (no residuals or true commissions). Rich employee pool from all different fields looking to make a career change. Employees add a great dimension for good networking contacts going forward. We all learned a lot from each other in the process.

Cons

Carrot held out for permanent employment which rarely happens. Lots of politics. They use stack ranking as a reason to lay off. Stack ranking takes points off for any deviation of your schedule of work, whether requested by manager, or approved by managemnet. Most employees kept on are not there because of performance, but who they are friends with in the company. They make a lot promises and do not keep them. Micromanagement in all areas. Bonuses, rules, everything changes from day to day. There is a lack of stabilllity at almost all levels of employment. Each carrier has different rules according to individual contracts. Employees get moved around projects a lot. The only consistency with this company is their inconsistency. They are a churn and burn. They are opening another office for next enrollment period in Phoenix Metro--it will be the same-churn & burn, lack of employee stability, no benefits as outlined on website except for the few permanent employees.Run-dont walk!

Pros

I don't have a bad thing to say about this company. It is challenging, fulfilling, and offers high income potential. It is sales, so it isn't for everyone. The company gives you free leads, and they are high quality! People go online looking for help with Medicare, fill in their information, and you follow up with them to assist in finding them the right coverage! you aren't just shoving a product down someone's throat. you are consulting with the customer, educating them, and enrolling them in whatever company and coverage they want! The commissions and bonuses are higher than similar companies out there, and HealthPlanOne offers renewals/trails on your sales. The environment is fantastic, the sales director, Cyndi Ray, truly wants her employees to have fun and make great money doing it. The company is wonderfully flexible in balancing your home life balance. They care about their employees and customers. I wouldn't want to work anywhere else. I am here for the long haul!

Cons

This is a growing company, so you may have some hurdles to climb when you first get started. It's like you run your own business, they give you the leads, but it is up to you to convert them to sales. the people that I see complaining are those that don't take accountability and don't seem to listen to the coaching and feedback. the management team dedicates almost all of their time to developing their employees and making them better.

Wow! Thank you very much for your positive feedback! As you mentioned, the income level is set by the individual. Our intention is to provide leads and a compensation plan that would allow our employees to be successful, and you're a great example that this is possible. It is because of employees like you that we are successful and continue to grow.
