Pros

From the president to the supervisers this place is crazy. Dont believe what the boss tells you. Especially the president. He's crazy inconsistent and flys off at the slitest offence. THey will want to tell you the environement and culture has changed. Don't buy it.

Cons

Managers and leaders that cant get together and drive a consistant message. It is really sad. THis could be a great place to work.

Pros

Heartland is a place for you to gain experience in a proven field while learning how to carry yourself in a professional environment. The people, culture, and atmosphere are some of the best parts of this company, provided you want them to be. Everything you decide to do will have an impact, and it is up to you to make the best of them. Heartland will reward your hard work with new opportunities, internal advancement, or the ability to move outside of what you think you know and learn something totally new. However, if you come in thinking that you deserve the world on a silver platter, you won't find success here. You have to work hard to be rewarded, and Heartland has greatly improved on that in the time that I was here. Probably one of the greatest perks is that they provide a stable work environment with set hours so that you are able to plan your off time accordingly. You don't have to worry about what your next day off will be or if you will be able to get to 40 hours in any given week, as that is the standard here. All in all, if you show up, work hard, do what is expected of you, and keep the company standards, they will ensure that you find success. Don't come into this company thinking you are better than them (news flash - you aren't), and they will give the experience and knowledge to do more than you ever thought you were capable of.

Cons

There have been many successful improvements in the last year to quality of life for the employees. Overall, the number of cons here has drastically diminished. Nowhere is perfect, however, and Heartland is no exception. However, look past the limited number of cons that exist and you will find an employer that will give you the opportunity that is equivalent to the work you put in. There are certain unnecessarily strict polices that need to be changed and some employee benefits that need immediate improvement to truly be a "competitive" workplace, but those don't compete with the experience to be gained and the opportunities that can be provided. Probably the best examples of improvements that could still be made would be allowing untucked T-shirts when there are no visitors, matching industry standards for hourly employees paid time-off (10 days per year to start), and fixing the salaried hours requirement and PTO policies in order to be competitive and allow a work/life balance for all employees.
