Pros

Flexible work schedule is pretty good, Some very great engineers to mentor you here. Decent opportunity for growth in the company/industry.

Cons

Poor Bonus, Poor scheduling internally, routinely overloads your schedule and makes you turn down work, unrealistic deadlines, then the couple of finger pointing middle management, makes the design process a headache at times.

We’re so glad you found flexibility and support during your time at Henderson. We take pride in offering flexible schedules, which enable employees to “flex” hours worked to counterbalance periodic upticks in workload. We strive to align our pay and benefits with the industry as well as the employee’s experience and qualifications. Bonuses aren’t guaranteed, however, this year we had a fully funded bonus pool. We appreciate the 2+ years you’ve been with us and hope to continue to build a better world together for years to come.

Pros

Great place to learn technical aspects of design. Great resources and tools.

Cons

Overworked and underpaid. 45-50+ hour weeks were pretty much the norm. Management that can actually make decisions on staffing are so far removed from design staff that designer struggles are not taken seriously.

Temporary upticks in workload aren’t unusual in our industry. However, we offset that through our flexibility, which allows employees to “flex” hours worked beyond 40 hours per week as necessary.
