Good benefits, flexible schedules & good variety of project

Cons

Too many bosses and not enough employees to do the work. Higher ups play preferences. Bonuses go to certain people, not necessarily the right people.

Great place to be a comfortable designer

Pros

In an industry of what can you do for me, how fast can you do it, and it better be petfect. Henderson asks what can we do for you. Henderson is heavily focussed on culture and it shows throughout.

Cons

As you might imagine success and happiness causes heavy conpetition for the smallest of career advances. In the past growth was so huge that opportunities were many and they filled those internally. However, after achieving mid-size company and refocussing their growth and thought process, many of the attributes are less noticeable than before. While management still cares, they can do less about it. Financial assets are spent on marketing, outside advisors, analytics, mergers, new offices, quality control, education, and unnecessary overhead, not on internal employees. Knowledge growth is huge here. My advice is to use Henderson as a stepping stone not your long term company. I left to start my own firm based on the knowledge growth and confidence I achieved as a professional engineer and project manager here, but wasnt allowed to call myself a project manager or receive higher pay for being one.

There are too many Pros to list here about Henderson. Having worked in this industry for 2 decades with other engineering firms, Henderson truly cares about its employees and invests in us daily. Weekly training sessions are offered to all employees and available to grow your knowledge base and learn more about other disciplines. No other company that I have worked at offers that. The Quality Evaluation Veterans (QEV) team, which consist of great seasoned individuals, work full time to review projects before they go out the door and help improve on company standards. Additionally, the QEV team helps mentor younger designers and engineers to focus on your strengths, not your weaknesses. Leadership and management are very approachable. If at any time an issue arises regardless of how busy they may be, they will make time for you. If you have a passion or a certain path you want to take in your career, management/leadership will support you in getting there, as long as you’re willing to put in the work. Flexible work hours are nice and give employees a great work life balance. Even though the company has 700+ employees, everyone is treated like family.

Cons

Pastry Friday. Its a sweet way to end the week by far, but really tough when your on a diet. LOL
