Pros
Good Company, good benefits. Good safety culture. Longevity in the aerospace industry.
Cons
12 hour shifts, work was tedious and repetitive. Like being a contract worker -- except with benefits. They talk a lot about cross-training and ability to bid into preferred shifts, but those opportunities are limited for for lower-seniority employees are limited. Cyclical demand due to aerospace -- seems as if workload was always feast or famine . Company did a massive hiring push mid-2019 through January 2020. Three months later, most employees with less than 2 year's seniority (as in, 1/3 of location's workforce) were laid off due to Covid-19-related corporate restructure. Was told upon lay off that company would not do callbacks.
