Layoff Time Again

Pros

While you are there things are average. Very short on minority middle management and none in higher leadership roles-- but overall women get a chance to lead.

Cons

Even though today they laid off the newest or worst employees on the teams they do not value, they do it amateurishly. Some people were told over the phone, everyone else herded into a room with somebody random who told them how it wasn't about them. Meanwhile, the people they like are usually moved into new positions that they do terrible in. My career favorites are -- -- The holiday party where they only focus on the team they care about -- you are forced to attend unless you want to use vacation -- --The snow emergency hotline, almost never updated even when all of the schools are closed and even then only updated at 8 AM after everyone is on the road since the manager in charge does not wake up until late morning since he could care less about the staff the 2 days he is actually in office. Bonus structure for the team is a tragedy -- worse once they promote you to a manager. $800 and change after taxes is a bang-up year. --The squandered money from the tax cuts businesses got last year -- no trickle down at all. -

Thanks for sharing your feedback. While difficult, it is critical for any company to constantly evaluate processes that are outdated, systems that need to be integrated, and business functions that need to be realigned. We look for opportunities to retrain staff to be better prepared to support a digital company.

Pros

Supervisors are pretty cool and will try to work with you as much as they can. For the most part your manager will keep you in the loop vs upper management. The job itself doesn’t take much work so you have a lot of time to freelance. Good bonus structure when followed.

Cons

Upper management doesn’t have the knowledge they should. The rules and workloads are constantly changing but no increase in pay. People quit left and right due to the atmosphere and constant change of workload requirements. The constant change often make the bonus late or seem as though the structure may not have been followed. Management seems to come off as if they try to undermine you when things start getting heavy on their end.
