Pros

Co-workers, and that’s about it. Highmark was once a great place to work 5-10+ years ago, however, new senior leadership don’t care about employees, only care about margins (even though they can’t keep the company above water). Everything that was special about Highmark has been stripped clean and it has no sole now. The CEO and his direct reports are fully to blame.

Cons

- CEO - Senior Leadership - No opportunity for growth - Lots of layoffs - Favortism - Expensive parking - Required to go into office - Tons of traffic - Expensive Cafe with terrible options - Not enough equipment for all employees

Pros

Vacation time and benefits are ok

Cons

At 30+ years at Highmark. Seen everything. Lots of bad management. Its hit or miss finding a good manager. Upper management is totally clueless. Stopped caring about employees and having a work/life balance years ago. They used to promote work/life balance but has since flipped. They recently changed work from home for hybrid employees and now make them come in the office 3 days a week. Used to come in the office once a week. Claiming better "collaberation" for the return to office. No valid reason for not letting us work from home where we are more productive. Most pittsburgh people take busses into work and travel time can be over an hour each way. Whereas we could be at home doing the same job on the clock. Our CEO is a moron. Constantly making changes that make no sense. Upper management does not take feedback well. Vindictive. Treat employees like crap in many areas.
