      Poor and difficult culture in this workplace

      Pros

      The company has a variety of competitive benefits available to employees, some at minimal cost. Some positions offer flexibility in schedules.

      Cons

      Management has a directly confrontational and adversarial relationship with union rank and file, which continually creates issues for middle managers. Safety policies and programs are superficial and training is only performed for compliance purposes.

      *Paid every week. *Fair management. *Strong peer invovement and support.

      Cons

      *At the mercy of the elements. *Some of the dock workers are so lazy that if the union clowns did not protect them, they'd be homeless bums. *Disconnect between what is expected and what can be achieved. If the freight has not even made it to the terminal by a certain time, there is no way that it can reasonably be expected to be routed to another terminal in a timely manner.

      Pros

      Pay is pretty competitive. The hours are very undesirable and management really doesn't care and that is why.

      Cons

      The workplace is completely unprofessional. The position for linehaul dispatcher has been advertised for years nonstop (seriously) because it isn't very rewarding and the work conditions are horrible. Some of the actions by management up and down are incredibly unethical and are not suited for today's workplace for drawing talented individuals.
