Pros

Work from home Great mission in helping Aging seniors Vacation time Resources and encouraging for mental health, working here is very stressful There are some great managers, but they will be moved into other positions. 401k offered and good health insurance New positions and departments, company growth

Cons

Constantly working with new managers, who are not experienced Micro managing managers who “bully” Pay- they say it is based off National average- which should not take place as majority of employees live in Tx, NE or CA. Low raises(1-4%), they make “promotions “ but then it’s called a “lateral” move giving you more “ experience” HR dept, submit a request - responses by email. Difficult to speak or meet with team.

Thank you for taking time to share your feedback, and we're sorry to read about your experience with Honor. We take input from our employees seriously, and invite you to reach out to us personally at 415-300-1347 to discuss your experience. We want to provide a supportive and rewarding work experience for our employees, and recognize the importance of positive and transparent internal communications -- especially as we have shifted to a distributed work model. Some of the things we do to promote transparency include monthly All Hands meetings to keep the entire company connected and informed. We’ve also been training managers on designing more thoughtful meetings and communications. And we have a robust Open Door policy and welcome feedback from all of our employees, both directly and anonymously. We believe a high degree of transparency can enhance the overall company culture, so it’s something we’re committed to.

Pros

Unlimited PTO is a plus.

Cons

Unlimited PTO doesn't matter cause you pay for it when you return.

We’re sorry to read about your experience. Striking a healthy work/life balance is more important than ever these days, and something we continue to focus on. To that end, we’ve been hiring more people, and implementing training to help leaders lead in a way that better integrates their teams’ personal time. And now that we're a distributed workforce, we've also established core hours so that collaboration can happen across time zones within everyone’s regular work day. We know we can't expect our employees to give us their best if they don’t have the time they need to rest and recharge. We wish you all the best -- and plenty of balance -- in your future work.

Beware All Smoke and Mirrors

Pros

Located in several states, diversity and inclusion is not too bad here, and since the pandemic they allow fully remote work. Sorry guys, after the Pandemic they stopped providing free lunch so that's no longer a PRO.

Cons

1. Lack of competitive pay and benefits on the corporate and caregiver level. 2. Leadership and management don't have the best idea of what's going on in the frontlines because they are so high up on their pedestals, and they take so much time off but don't offer good PTO to lower level staff. 3. Lack of transparency across the organization when it comes to compensation and lack of concrete professional development/growth plans. 4. Poor PTO, maternity and sick-time policy for Texas staff. 5. Favoritisim. They promote favorites fast and if you aren't a favorite you get gaslighted when bringing up questions about pay raises or opportunities. 6. Even if you show how much work you put in with metrics and projects if you aren't "teacher's pet" you won't get promoted or get a raise. 7. Retaliation - If you asked about PTO or to work from home occasionally before the pandemic they didn't agree with it and treated employees who asked these questions differently after. 8. Lack of Work-Life Balance- You could be asked to work weekends and holidays anytime even though it's not what you signed up for. They promote and rewards those willing to work 60 hours a week and gaslight hourly staff who say they cannot commit to more than 45 hours a week. 9. Some managers are young and lack experience with working with different learning styles and don't advocate for their team and instead throw them under the bus. 10. Many layoffs- Work is not stable, they have lay offs every year and they post the openings months later with lower pay than the previous staff.

We’re sorry to read about your experience. We want to provide a rewarding work experience for our employees where they feel valued and included. In 2021, we rolled out company-wide parental leave policies and moved to a national compensation strategy to support remote work and to eliminate any pay and benefits differences between our staff in different states. Additionally, in Q2 and Q3 of this year, we began offering leadership coaching to many of our senior leaders as well as partnered with LifeLabs to offer robust manager training to upskill and support our managers. We are committed to making Honor a great place to work and grow your career, so we’re thankful for your feedback. We wish you all the best in your career.
