Worst experience in my career

Pros

Relatively talented and skilled staff/team members who are hard working. Lots of staff who care about the hospitals but are getting frustrated with the system. Unable to affect change because not provided the tools to do so.

Cons

Inadequate training, ambiguous process and policy, grossly lacking in FTEs and the resources to be successful in role. Know the institution is in flux but trying to fix too many issues at one time, stressing their staff and resources and ultimately making mistakes instead of making them better.

Laboratory

Pros

Sometimes you can leave early if it's not busy. Decent coworkers. That's about all I can say about the lab here. Cheap benefits options. Wellness discounts.

Cons

Very poor leadership, poor management, the people in charge don't care about employee satisfaction or employee engagement. The powers that be do whatever they want with no regard for how it effects the staff. Morale is really low every single day and night, no one wants to be there, everyone is looking for jobs at different facilities, pay has been decreased since the merger with Scottsdale. New employees are making way less than people who were hired just a year ago before the merger for doing the same exact job. Management team plays favorites among employees, some people can come in whenever they feel like it, others can't. Some people can call out once a week or once a pay period and it's okay, but others catch hell for calling out once a year. PTO accrual rate is poor. Combined vacation and sick time is a joke when the accrual rate is so bad. They don't do pay raises based on performance so there is no incentive to do well or go above and beyond. Since merging with Scottsdale, this non-profit facility now operates like a for-profit facility. Their integrity is gone, along with most of their staff. Benefits are horrendous. I've had to pay out of pocket for basic procedures that almost all other insurances cover in full.

It is a good company to work for if you want to get experience.
