Pros

Honorhealth health hires the most undesirable employees which you will work with day in and day out.

Cons

Ageism, racism, are a daily reality. Management does not care about its employees. In fact, gossip and dysfunctional work environments is the norm.

Pros

Flexible self scheduling. Overtime is an option.

Cons

Often short staffed. Company has changed since merger with John C Lincoln as its main focus is on budget rather than patient or staff safety. Many changes without direction. High turn over rate with unsatisfied staff.

Pros

Nice facility. Great bedside staff nurses. Good pay. Good benefits. Magnet facility. Safe pt care. Meets nursing metrics. Decent ratios at the moment (set to be increased starting Jan 2016). Working hard to change computer softwares to improve staff and pt satisfaction. Interested and working on pt community outreach facilities and programs. No mandated scrub colors for nursing staff.

Cons

Terrible communication from administration down to bedside staff. Most decisions come from high instead of bedside RNs having autonomy, which has resulted in recent very low staff engagement survey results (only 12% staff are engaged at the Osborn campus). Hire management positions only based on education credentials instead of best personality combined with education for the position. Since merger with JCL- administration only seems concerned about the bottom dollar. Feels like big corporate mentality now. Administration does not allow any negative comments to be spoken without retaliation. Directors are being pushed out and eliminated so they can consolidate one Director for an entire floor instead of one per unit/specialty. All this accomplishes is directors who are spread way too thin and communication gets even worse for the bedside staff. No fair scoring system for yearly evaluations and merit. It's vey subjective to who is writing it. HR runs the place- they trump most decisions made by management related to staff discipline and such. Recruitment to hire new staff takes like two or more months to get someone in (that's not including hands on training). Terrible supply shortages due to budget cuts.
