Pros

-Interesting cases -Full time work guaranteed -Does not follow "forced compliance" or punishment procedures

Cons

-Regularly skips your lunch and 10 minute breaks, despite that being illegal -Poor pay, even with advancement to top RBT position -Lack of time off/not enough -Chronically understaffed, no one wants to work here. People quit every week, even experienced RBTs with years of experience -Forced overtime work (Full time=45-50 hours per week every week) -You have to clean the center. Center is too cheap to pay to have it cleaned. -Center manager sweeps everything under the rug. Does not enforce changes they say they will. Not flexible to BCBAs or RBTS opinions. Blindly complies by "rules of Hopebridge", even when they are unethical or dangerous -Regularly buys lunches and treats but fails to offer basic human rights for employees -BCBAs seem too stressed out; crying everyday -

Pros

Flexibility with time off. Pay time off and holidays for part-time employees.

Cons

Management is horrible, they care about the money more than the kids or the employees. It is like a revolving door, new employees appear every week. . The leadership team does not care about the RBTs, it is hard to get new materials or toys for the children. Employees bring their toys or buy them because it doesn’t seem to be enough money to buy functional toys for the children. The cleaning of the facility is horrible, employees are supposed to clean bathrooms, kitchen, and everything else. I have not seen one cleaning crew come in and the facility lacks soap and hand towels or other cleaning stuff. Employees are bullied by the BCBA and leadership, stuff is made up and if you’re not on the nice list or in the circle you are basically on your own. It could be such a great place if they would care about the employees. I wouldn’t recommend working now unless you are in for the drama.

Pros

The kids, salary, $500 for CEUs, and the bonus structure.

Cons

I was so excited when I started at HB several years ago. I really thought this was going to by “it” job, where I could retire from. There were so many good things about it that stood out from other providers in the Indy area: awesome bonus structure, caseload of 12, support from two RBTs (an associate consultant and a program coordinator, both off the floor full time), round tables (where BCBAs from all over the company were brought together to discuss changes in the company, see the exec team, get free CEUs from doctorate levels BCBAs, two catered lunches, and a nice dinner), great pay, and a very family friendly, work/life schedule of 9-4pm. I used to brag about all the benefits they provided at the time to my other BCBA friends and I was truly happy there. But shortly after joining, all of the HHGregg people started getting hired in and the company started becoming very corporate. Cuts were made (goodbye smaller caseload, extra support, and round tables — hello 14 patients with one part-time assistant), hours were extended without compensation (9-4pm went to 8:30-5pm and eventually 5:30pm), and HHGregg lackeys were promoted to supervisor positions —people with no clinical background and no idea how to supervise people above a high school diploma. It was always obvious how out of touch they were with their audience when they presented their horrible ideas because they would attempt to make us all believe that the changes were, “for the children.” Like we didn’t notice how top heavy we were becoming with non billable positions that would need to be supported somehow. The benefits that once drew me to them were slowly taken away, clinics spiraled into chaos, middle management was incompetent, and corporate people just kept opening new clinics, never looking back to take care of what they already had. The worst is the middle management. Most have no business being in that role, no qualifications for it at all. They are just HHGREGG lackeys with associates degrees (or less!) and do not understand how to run a clinic, let alone an entire region. They lie, talk poorly about others behind their backs, blame others for their mistakes, and make terrible decisions for a clinic they do not know the dynamic of because they only visit once every few months and then hide away in meetings all day when there. But don’t worry, because when things get tough and you need RBTs or you need corporate to stop pushing kids in the door because there isn’t any room or staff available, they’ll blame your clinic manager and then buy your clinic pizza! 🙄
