Thank you for taking the time to post a review on Glassdoor, and for your long term commitment to Horizon. I'm sorry your impression of Horizon is not completely positive—I would love to help change that so you are a happy and engaged employee. I encourage you to come speak to someone in Human Resources to share your insights and address your concerns.
There are differences between departments and the challenges they face, and between managers. What seems to be constant is the satisfaction with coworkers. We are very fortunate to have great people throughout the organization. Developing and improving our managers is an ongoing initiative, and specific and identifiable feedback from employees is essential to help us guide and coach. Again, I invite you to speak to HR to help us build a stronger leadership team.
As for your comment about involuntary turnover, I believe your impression does not align with reality. Our workforce metrics show a consistently low turnover over many years, running about half of the national average. With that said, at times changes are necessary to get the right skills in the right positions, or to adjust to changing business conditions. These decisions are not made lightly, nor are the reasons always known by others since they are confidential situations. We do our best to support people through periods of transition.
Feedback from every exit interview is addressed with senior leadership. While adjustments may not be immediately apparent, trust that we take this feedback and work to build a better Horizon. I couldn’t agree more with your advice to talk to people—that’s why we conduct random retention interviews, have recently started partnering an HR rep with each department to attend huddles, and actively monitor Glassdoor for feedback and suggestions. Horizon has an open door policy. Please avail yourself of it with department leadership and/or HR to share your insights and recommendations, and point out areas you feel need further investment for success. We are ready and eager to listen.
