Pros

Horizon truly make some incredible products. They have selected a world-class team of people to back them and I truly feel that they are light years above the nearest equivalent companies.

Cons

There is a clear and definite lack of communication for all of the information that passes through the building. The process by which decisions are made are extended and truly stifle any meaningful input. Senior management has made some incredibly poor decisions and their employees have suffered for it, including losing their jobs over situations that they had no hand in. The pious undertones that govern the company's "culture" are quite irritating to say the least, and seem to only serve as a means to help some people sleep at night. Nepotism rules and meritocracy loses in this environment. They use you up and then cast you aside.

Pros

The culture is generally positive and the people are generally nice. The products are enjoyable and fairly priced.

Cons

The dollar is the bottom line. They will cut people on immediate downward trends and rehire a few months later for the same positions. The products end up getting pushed with issues to save pennies. Products are also quickly discontinued and alt versions are rereleased with differing components years later meaning customers are often left hanging.

Product lineup is fun. HR does a great job at planning fun employee events. Employee discount is nice.

Cons

The PD group runs the show at Horizon. If you're not one of them, it's easy to feel like a second class citizen at work. Pay lower than others in the area. Benefits very expensive compared to others in the area.
