Please speak to someone in your leadership team or Human Resources with your concerns. We most certainly do value our employees. Please let us know why you feel your needs are not understood.
In terms of compensation, we evaluate our total rewards packages for internal and external equity. Of course bonuses are subject to change, based on individual and company performance. That's why they are part of incentive pay, not base pay. We did change our 401(k) match to be more like profit sharing, also to provide incentive for individuals to directly link their financial rewards with performance.
Many employees feel Horizon is very family friendly, based on the benefits we provide that can also be used for family members (medical, dental, vision, and long term care insurance; fitness center membership; EAP services), as well as family friendly events we sponsor. We provide on-site health screenings for employees and spouses, we offer an on-site flu shot clinic for employees and families, we host Bring Your Kids to Work Day, a picnic for employees and family members, we provide scholarships for children of Horizonites, and we extend time off benefits that can be used for a variety of family needs. In addition, many areas work hard to accommodate work-life balance through flexible scheduling whenever possible.
