Pros

The only pros about this position are the people on the team, working Remotely and PTO.

Cons

With No notice, Management decided to switch to an 80/20 model and drop our base pay by 15% abruptly $4 removed from Base Hourly including the new people who have started. We got a sudden meeting and when asked if we have a choice we were told verbatim you have a choice if you would like to work here or not. My disappointment was immeasurable but can't say i'm surprised. Across all customer service positions we're all just a number, I've always known this but i at least HCP would have been as different as they presented themselves. Smoke and Mirrors people. Would never recommend this job to anyone.

The commission mix you called out reflects how the business is evolving, and strong performers typically earn more under it. Pros

Work from home, and THAT IS IT

Cons

If you are considering working here, proceed with extreme caution. On the surface, the company presents itself as growth focused and performance driven. Internally, the experience can be very different. Leadership turnover is frequent, communication from senior management is minimal, and expectations shift without clear guidance or consistency. Coaching and feedback structures are weak or inconsistent. Performance standards are not always applied transparently, and decisions can feel sudden and unsupported by clear documentation or prior development conversations. The lack of process creates an environment where even strong performers may feel exposed and uncertain about their standing. There is a noticeable disconnect between how the organization markets itself and how teams are actually supported. Individuals are often placed into leadership roles without sufficient experience or strategic clarity, particularly in more complex segments of the business. This leads to reactive management rather than proactive development. The culture can feel transactional and, at times, adversarial. Praise can quickly shift to pressure without warning. Instead of fostering safety, the environment often creates anxiety around job security. I would strongly encourage candidates to ask detailed questions about: Leadership stability Documentation and performance review processes Coaching frameworks Escalation and conflict resolution procedures In its current state, this is not a place I would recommend to anyone seeking stability, transparency, or long term growth. This is the definition of a toxic relationship, if you're reading this RUN WHILE YOU STILL CAN.

Feedback this candid deserves more than a form reply. We hold Account Executives to a high bar, and strong performance expectations require equally clear coaching and consistent leadership. That's a commitment we take seriously. If your experience isn't matching that standard, we want to hear from you directly. Please connect with our People Team. -Housecall Pro People Team

A Great Company to Work For

Business Outlook

Pros

Housecall Pro is a great company to work for, with a positive and collaborative environment. The team is highly capable and actively shares knowledge, which supports continuous learning and career growth. Leadership is supportive, listens to employees, and provides regular, constructive feedback.

Cons

The benefits for outsourced developers are more limited compared to those offered to US-based employees. Improving this would create a more balanced and inclusive experience.

Supportive leadership and active knowledge sharing don't happen by accident, and it's genuinely good to hear those are showing up in your everyday experience as a React engineer. We hear the note on benefits for team members in different locations and take that seriously as we grow. -Housecall Pro People Team
