Pros

Remote work is probably the only benefit.

Cons

They over work top reps instead of putting effort into low performers. They hold you to a high goal and then make you run any demo no matter what and when you start running demos that the “pro” you’re working with doesn’t even run a real business it kills your numbers and you get in trouble for it. They incentivize sdr’s to just get anyone on a demo by offering gift cards up to $100 just to watch for 20 min but you are supposed to keep their attention for longer lol. Trust me I would sit there for 20 minutes and not pay attention at all too if I was told I can get a $100 gift card to just sit there and not care about anything the sales rep tells me. Also managers are good just super overworked so good luck if you have any questions or salesforce gets weird while you’re on the phone with a pro. For a product that is made to help professionals streamline their business it’s super annoying that it’s marketed online as almost a lead generation platform. Then a pro gets on the phone with you looking for leads and you are somehow expected to still close that deal or your numbers suffer. Being one of the performers and making barely enough money to live is kind of embarrassing. Not a good sales job at all.

Sales roles at HCP are metrics-driven by design, and top performers value that visibility. Demo quality, SDR incentive structures, and pipeline mix are tuned continuously against real outcomes. If your numbers are being affected by routing decisions, please connect with your management or the People Team directly so we can look into the specifics. -Housecall Pro People Team

Pros

The job is remote and they have good health benefits which are the only positives.

Cons

You won't make ote it is all a lie. Im a top performer on my team 6 of 12 past months and I'm about 25k shy of what they told me I'd make before commission restructure happened in Nov 25. Now ill be 40 to 50k shy. They cut all of inbounds commission by 30%, whilst adding more responsibilities to your day to day. While being short staffed from everyone quitting. It is a round Robin of people leaving because they treat us like garbage. Pay was garbage compared to industry norms before pay cut. They are making reps do account manager work on top of day to day responsibilities w.o compensating you for it. The leads are given gift cards to sit for demo and most are not real business owners. There is 0 vetting or qualifications to sit for demo. Meaning you got junkie "hanymen" there for gift cards and they don't even give them the gift cards so they will harass you for them after demo. When you don't close the fake leads your put in overflow which cuts your pay dramatically. This all started because they can't keep customers because everyone cancels. Instead of that problem falling on retention or the onboarding department it falls on sales shoulders which is sociopathic in nature.

Sales roles at HCP are built for high performers. Compensation is benchmarked to market and structured to reward consistent achievement that leads to happy customers and business success. We checked the numbers and most of our reps are close to or above their OTE attainment in the first few months. -Housecall Pro People Team

Pros

Massive opportunity that the company is solving, for a customer base that genuinely appreciates it

Cons

Increasing silos in the org as things grow

"Greenfield" captures it precisely. The market we're in is genuinely underserved, and the fact that customers feel that impact daily is one of the most energizing things about building here. On cross-team connectivity as the org scales, leadership is actively working through it. The opportunity is real and worth the work. -Housecall Pro People Team
