Good institution, poor management. Much upside possible
Pros
Socially responsible and good for the community. Some excellent professional tied up in a web of mediocrity. There is room to contribute if you follow the guidelines. If not you can be stuck in red tape.
Cons
Management is political and very siloed. People think ' me first and getting ahead'. Heard many times "don't speak up" ... other times heard " They treat us like **it" ... "If you want to get ahead, leave!"..."one top manager said, 'i know its wrong, but its the process' ...(can you believe that happening in a private institution?) ... it became unbearable to be in a no man's land where you could not change the system and you could not do what you needed to do because of it. Much inbreeding and people protected each other if they were old school buddies, especially the old timers from the 90's covered each others back no matter how incompetent or Peter Principled they had become.
