      IGT in a nutshell

      Pros

      It was a good company to work for 10 years ago. Company used to offer good bonuses and there were no layoffs. You do your job right and you will not lose it due to budget cuts. Friendly environment, people work in close knitt groups and are also willing to help members across the groups.

      Cons

      Past 6 years layoffs happen at random and too frequently. You could be on top of your game and still lose your job. Bonuses shrank, contribution to health care went up. Raises are dismal. Top heavy company

      Crash and Burn

      Pros

      The only plus to this job, at the moment, is it affords me a normal work life balance, but that is it.

      Cons

      The company has been mismanaged for the past 5 years. Patti Hart has no idea how to grow revenue and is only concerned with the bottom line. There is no investment in the future and no resources to execute on projects to help grow revenue. Since she took over all she has done is cut staff and benefits to the bone. Every year for the past 5 years there has been at least on round of layoffs. It is clear now that her only concern is to sell the company. She has taken a once dominant gaming company and driven it into the ground. She is easily the most incompetent CEO I have ever had the displeasure of working for.

      Poor Morale, Upper Management Doesn't Care About Employees

      Pros

      My coworkers are awesome, and it is nice to work on slot games. Also great time off policies.

      Cons

      Employees are not taken care of. No room for promotions or good raises. Constant threat of layoffs and upper management doesn't want the lower levels of employees to know anything. We knew about layoffs for months before it happened. They didn't tell us about layoffs until AFTER they announced it to the media. Layoffs were already happening, then we get an email.
