Pros

Visibility to senior management, if you can manage that. Otherwise, if you're a slacker who doesn't mind sitting around and doing the bare minimum, leaving when you like then this is the perfect place for you.

Cons

People are leaving on a weekly basis. Knowledge drain is happening across the board and there aren't many mid-level resources left to train the new analysts that come in.

Pros

Besides the views from the office..not a lot. Many employees from the taken over companies are experienced, smart, hard working people, who get the short end of the stick, and the owner is oblivious to this.

Cons

So many to mention. They have created this NEW page under ION Group. Anyone out there looking for a career here should read the reviews of ION Trading. You will find a good one here and there, however rest assured that these were written by the crop of graduates that have hired over the past 3-4 years at management mandate. They recently let go a large amount of staff via text and email on New Years Eve. The ones let go from Wallstreet had over 75 years of expertise and experience. What does this say to the remaining staff? Hard work and loyalty gets you nothing. Many employees from acquired companies have received NO raises or bonuses for many years.

Pros

- Employees who come to ION through acquisitions are generally professional, competent, and good coworkers. - Employees who come into ION through Leadership Training programs are treated like royalty, and given many perks acquired Employees do not get. - You're rewarded with additional workload if you survive annual layoffs - If you apply for an open job, know that the CEO approves every job opening and job offer because he is a control freak, so you may wait a while to get an offer

Cons

- The CEO is the most unethical professional I've ever worked for. His blatant disregard for following employment laws and finacial regulations is incredible. - The CEO surrounds himself with yes men. No one challenges him, because his temper is legendary and he pays them well. The incompetent ones sometimes leave, but are replaced by another suck-up. - The non-compete agreement employees must sign lists every competitor - and they will try to enforce it, which means you're a prisoner - The US HR team is almost non-existent, Good people, but no support for HR, so they basically just keep the lights on. - So many good companies have been acquired by ION, decimated, and limp along as a shell of what they once were. Employees become demoralized and leave in droves. - ION sucks the cash/capital out of every new acquisition to feed the next acquisition. The greed is incredible, and they are leveraged beyond comprehension.
